Della was the oldest to two children. Della attended country school, but later completed the 8th grade in Alexandria. Della lived at home helping her parents and brother Floyd on the farm northeast of Alexandria. Often she and her mom would spend an afternoon fishing. Della and Dea were married on April 2, 1940 at the Thayer County Courthouse in Hebron, Nebraska. They lived on the farm southwest of Tobias, Nebraska. To this union two children were born. Both Della and Dea loved the farm. Both were very hardworking people. Della worked in the fields along side Dea, she did chores, raised chickens, planted garden and flowers, cooked and canned, and cared for her home and children. They enjoyed getting together with friends for an evening of cards or dancing. In 1976 they retired and moved to Tobias then in 1992 they moved to Daykin.
