Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Bargen were conducted from the Centennial Lutheran Church Monday afternoon, Rev. Robert J. Leege officiating. Mrs. Bargen died at the Good Samaritan Home in Nelson Friday evening at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 16 days.

Minnie Anna Bargen, nee Meyer, was born Nov. 28, 1885, at Dunbar, Neb., in Otoe County, the daughter of Herman and Betty Meyer nee Reige.

She received the sacrament of baptism as an infant and in her youth was confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

She came as a child with her family to Nuckolls County, Nebraska. Here, on the family farm, she grew to adulthood.
On March 17, 1904, she was united in marriage with John Harms Bargen. The marriage was blessed with seven children.
The couple farmed in Nuckolls County near Cadams until their retirement in 1945, when they moved to Superior.

Following the death of her husband on May 7, 1966, she continued to make her home in Superior. In February this year, failing health led her to enter the Good Samaritan Home in Superior. In April, she entered the Good Samaritan Home in Nelson.

Besides her husband she was preceeded in death by her parents, by one daughter, Frances, and by three sisters and five brothers.

She leaves to mourn her children, Herman of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Alfred Andersen (Irene) of Superior, Mrs. Alvin Jacobsen (Edna) of Enid, Okla., Orval of Superior, Mrs. Glenn Oltmans (Della) of Nelson and Mrs. Arthur Frey (Mayme) of Wichita; 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces and a host of friends and acquaintances.
She was a life long member of the Lutheran Church and a charter member together with her husband of Centennial Lutheran Church, and also a charter member of the Ladies Aid of that congregation.

Burial was in the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery. The Megrue-Price Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
