OBITUARY
Mrs. Chris Meyer
Funeral services for Mrs. Chris Meyer, who passed away Thursday, Jan 16, were held Monday, Jan. 20 at the Diamond Lake Lutheran Church with Rev. Calvin Rossman officiating. Burial was in the Diamond Lake cemetery.
"Sometime We'll Understand", "Our Father has Light in His Window", and "Blest be the Tie that Binds", were songs sung by the congregation.
Pallbearers were Arild Olsen, Stanley and Soren Meyer, Richard, James and Carl Christensen (all nephews).
Carrie Meyer was born at Brighton, Ia. on June 15, 1897 and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She came to Minnesota in 1914 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Christensen. In 1920 she was united in marriage to Chris Meyer of Lake Benton.
She is survived by her husband, Chris of Lake Benton; six children - Harlan, Ivan and Marvin of Lake Benotn, Mrs. Robert Bauman (Naomi) of Watertown, S.D., Mrs. Willis Johnson (Marian) of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mrs. Willis Darnell (Shirley) of Richmond, Calif.; 28 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Martha Hansen of Thisted, Denmark; four brothers - Albert of Lake Benton, Charlie of Chicago, Ill., Andrew of Fergus Falls, and Einer Christensen of Sioux Falls, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
Friends and relatives were present from Sioux Falls, S.D.; Kimballton, Exira, Audubon and Anita, Iowa; and Luverne, Hendricks, Taunton, Arco and Tyler, Minn.
