From research done by David Koehler:
Wilhelmina Sophie Dorothee ("Wilhelmina") Meyer was born on 12 February 1841. She was the 11th and last child born to Juergen Heinrich Meyer (1794 - 1851) and his wife Catharina Wilhelmine nee Runge (1798 - 1863). She was baptized on 7 March 1841 in the Abbensen Evangelical Lutheran Church. This information comes from a search of the Abbensen church records conducted in the summer of 2010.
She emigrated to the United States some time before her marriage which would place the immigration date somewhere between 1860 and 1865. This implies that she would have been somewhere between 19 and 24 when she came to America. She married Henry Behrens probably around 1865 or 1866 and they settled in a small farm near Wheeling, Illinois.
They raised eight children there: Wilhelmina was the first, possibly born in 1867. Ida born in 1868, Henry born in 1870, Sophia born in 1872, Gustav born in 1873, Katie born in 1881, then Albert and finally William. Sons Henry and Gustav also went into farming and they each moved to Wisconsin. Henry continued farming in the area of Gleason, Wisconsin; Gustav moved back to a farm in the Wheeling area.
Wilhelmina Meyer Behrens died on March 20, 1908.
