Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Born April 27, 1938, in Miami, MO, Helen was the daughter of the late George H. Meyer and Tillie Gawer Meyer. On August 3, 1962, she married Harold D. Ford who survives of the home. She lived in Saline County her entire life and was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Blackburn. She worked at F.M. Stamper Company, a dietitian for Mar-Saline Manor and Sweet Springs Villa and in hospitality at The Living Center.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Wanda S. Poe and husband David of San Antonio, TX; one son, Charlie R. Ford of Marshall; two grandchildren, Megan D. Poe and David M. Poe; one sister, Delora Chastine of rural Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by one sister, Viola Hunter; and one brother, Alwood Meyer.
