FOSTORIA -- Adell H. Lininger, 82, of Bowling Green, and formerly of Fostoria, died at at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, May 16, 2004 at Bowling Green Manor, Bowling Green.
She was born July 7, 1921 in Van Wert to Edward and Claradell (Heim) Metzner, deceased. She married O.J. "Bill" Lininger on May 8, 1943 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Van Wert, and he died Sept. 7, 1959.
Surviving are three daughters, Sister Mary Adell Lininger, S.N.D., Toledo; Carol J. Lininger, Bowling Green; and Nancy L. Lambertson, Minnetonka, Minn.; three sons, James W. "Boe" (Sharyn) of Fostoria; John E. "Jack" (Cindy) of Findlay; and William M. "Bill" of Roanoke, Va.; a brother, Paul "Vince" Metzner, Delphos; six grandchildren, Jamie, Jeff and Jason Lininger, Kristin Kalan, Aaron Lininger and Rebecca Lambertson; and four great-grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Kayleigh and Joel Lininger, and Brittany Norviel.
Mrs. Lininger retired as Secretary for St. Wendelin Catholic Church and Schools after 30 years.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Bowling Green, and a former member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and its Rosary Altar Society. She was a member of Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Circle of Mercy, Fostoria Women's Club and Bowling Green Senior Center. She was also a volunteer at Wood County and Fostoria Community Hospitals. Adell enjoyed and was a very good Bridge card player.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where a rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. A luncheon will follow the mass in the parish hall. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in St. John's Cemetery, Delphos.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, where the Circle of Mercy will pray a rosary at 5 p.m., a Catholic Ladies of Columbus memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. and a Christian Wake service will be held at 8:45 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Aloysius and St. Wendelin Catholic Churches, and Sisters of Notre Dame.
