Death: Nov. 4, 1974

Earl Messersmith, 87, Rt. 6, Marion, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday at the Marion VA Hospital.

Mr. Messersmith was a retired farmer and belonged to the First United Methodist Church, Marion. A World War I veteran, he was a member of the 40 and 8 and the American Legion Post in Van Buren.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Madge Kem, Rt. 1, LaFontaine, and Mrs. Opal Windsor, Fowlerton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at H. Brown and Son Funeral Home, Warren, with the Rev. Terry Jones officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.

American Legion military services will be held at graveside.
