Frances "Granny" Gardner, 81, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.
She was born May 18, 1928, in Lee County. She was the daughter of the late Jim and Pearl Merritt.
She was a Member of Rising Star M.B. Church in Tupelo and a Retired Employee of Long's Laundry.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rising Star M.B. Church with Rev. Melvin B. Lewis officiating.
Burial will be in the Porter's Memorial Cemetery in Tupelo.
Agnew and Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include four Daughters, Delois Hamilton; Claudia Howard; Edna Gardner and Ruthy Long and Husband, Rev. Gary, all of Tupelo; one Brother, Booker King of Belden; 16 Grandchildren and 28 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Earlie Gardner; one Son, Jimmy Carr; two Sisters, Willie Hampton and Magnolia Thompson; and two Brothers, Gilbert Merritt and Sham Merritt.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. and the Family hour from 5 to 6 p.m. today at Rising Star M.B. Church.
The body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to Service time Saturday.
