Former Brown County resident Katherine R. Haggard died Friday, June 26, 1992, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. A resident of that city, she was 81. She was born September 20, 1910, to Ivy Francis Merriman and Mary Ann Crabb Merriman. She married Lester Haggard December 2, 1961, and he died January 7, 1983. She was an Indiana Bell Telephone Company operator from 1948 to 1968. Mrs. Haggard was a memeber of the General Assembly and Church of the First Born in Martinsville. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Kathryn Williams of Indianapolis; two sons, Paul Leonard and Robert Eugene Williams, a brother, Carl Raymond Satters of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. The service was Monday morning at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown. Burial was in that community's East Hill Cemetery. July 1, 1992
