Clinton-Marion F. (Merrill) Chase, 86, formerly of 24 Water St., died Thursday, June 6, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at UMass Medical Center in Worcester. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Donna M. Innamorati & companion Ted Kauppi of FL; Carol Cutler & Mark, with whom she resided, of Lancaster; William Chase & companion Elaine Barbosa of Millbury; John "Herbie" Chase & companion Rhonda Glennon, Daniel "Stickman" Chase & Marlene, Catherine Chase & fiancÚ John Lussier, Paul "Moonie" Chase & Patricia, Elizabeth Goodale & David, all of Clinton. She leaves her siblings, Barbara Hodakoski of Lancaster; Shirley Haynes & companion Philip of Bolton; Constance Lefebvre & husband Eugene, sisters-in-law, Dorothy Merrill & Gloria Merrill, all of Clinton; 21 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. She is pre-deceased by her infant daughter, Christine Chase, and five siblings, Phyllis Parker, Dorothy McMilleon, Elizabeth Morrison, Charles and George Merrill.
Marion was born in Clinton to the late Edmund & Elsie (McKeown) Merrill. She attended local schools and later began her career working for several local businesses including Miron Mills, W.T. Grant, and Nypro, from where she ultimately retired after nearly 25 years as a Quality Control Supervisor. Marion was active within her community of Clinton as a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Turn Verein Ladies Auxiliary, and volunteer with WHEAT Community Services. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, trips to the casino, watching her daily soaps and Lifetime movies, and was known to never pass a yard sale without stopping. Ms. Chase devoted herself to her family and most cherished time spent in the company of her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday, June 10, 2013 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Burial will later be held privately in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton.
