|Death: ||Dec. 5, 1854|
In this city, on Tuesday morning, the 5th instant, Mrs. Lucina E. Damon, wife of Sumner Damon, Esq., aged 37 years.
It is with feelings of more than ordinary regret that we announce the death of Mrs. Damon - a lady of the most amiable qualities, and sustaining the character and life of a devoted Christian. Words are a feeble tribute of her worth, - her name and memory will remain in the heart's affections of all who knew her. For a number of years (since 1849) she has been a resident of this city, and enjoyed continued good health up to but a very few days previous to her decease. Death, however, had marked his victim, and with a power not to be stayed he overcame the efforts to withstand the event, and the spirit of her who in early life had committed her trust to the Redeemer, passed the bounds of time, to rest in the Paradise above. The circle of friends has been broken on earth - is there not hope of a reunion in Heaven? The afflicted husband and son have the heartfelt sympathies of those who cherished the fond and confiding wife and mother. - Thrice "blessed are those who die in the Lord."
