AHOSKIE, N.C. — Charles Timothy "Tim" Merriam, 45, of Harrellsville, N.C., passed away June 8, 2007, due to a massive stroke.
He was born Sept. 29, 1961, in Nashville, Tenn. Tim was the son of the late Charles (Peck) and Helen Logston Merriam and grew up in Duncan Falls. He was a 1979 graduate of Philo High School and MAJVS. Upon his graduation, he entered the United States Navy and served his country for 18 years including two tours in the Gulf War. He was a member of the Old Trail Hunt Club and Malta Lodge 118 F & AM in Norwich. While living in North Carolina, Tim was a volunteer EMT and firefighter.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Harney Merriam; daughters, Ashley Merriam, Kadee Merriam and Danielle (Tucker) Capo; stepchildren, Zack Harney and Katie (Jesse) Drumheller; stepgranddaughter, Katrina Drumheller; one brother, Jack (Sandra) Merriam; sisters, Diana Merriam and Shirley Merriam, Judy (Jerry) DiSimone, Cathy (Bob) Hittle and Margie (Terry) Glaub; special aunts, Margy Wilson, Margaret Merriam and Naomi Taylor; and special friends, Tammy and Joey Taylor; and many neices and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Harold Mercer; a brother, Charles Richard Merriam; and a nephew, Roger Lee Merriam.
