Obituary-Nicholasville.-Della Frances Merrell, 82, widow of Sylvester Coolidge Merrell who died in 2000, died on Friday, February 22, at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center.

She was a native of Adair County born February 3, 1931, to the late Henry and Rhoda Garland Absher. She was a homemaker and served as a bookkeeper for her husband who made furniture and other woodworking pieces. She also loved camping and gathering with family and friends.

She was a wonderful loving Mother to her daughters Rosemary Murphy, husband Ronnie and Sylvia Diane Anderson, husband Charles and a son Kenneth Leon Merrell, fiancée Valerie Kelsoy, a grandmother to 5 grandchildren Ronnie Murphy, Jr., Tammy Renna Murphy, Rosemary Lynn Foster , Russell Anderson and Christopher Anderson as well as 11 great grandchildren.

Other survivors are her sisters Gertrude Daughtery, and Geraldine Miller, husband Wayne; brothers Jesse Absher, wife Carrie, Walter Absher, and Lonzo A. Absher and many nieces and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 12:00 Noon Monday, Feb. 25, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral with Brother William Nipp officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
