Death: May 16, 2005

Inis Marie Braun, daughter of Albert Jackson Merrell and Lottie Christine (Varnen) Merrell Poythress, was born February 15, 1935 at Newburg, Missouri.

She departed this life the morning of Monday, May 16, 2005 at her home in Laquey, Missouri at the age of 70 years.

Inis attended school in Newburg, and later lived in the Marshfield and Springfield area.

On September 1, 1985, Inis was united in marriage with Elmer Harry Braun in Springfield, Missouri.

While living in Springfield, Inis worked as a housekeeper at several motels, and also at the Foster Nursing Home. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and fishing.

Inis will be greatly missed by her husband: Elmer of the home; 11 children: Wanda Milis of Kansas City, MO, David Young of Waynesville, MO, Tammy Bussone of Burlington, CO, Lisa Winslow, Charles Young and Bill Young, Jr. all of Laquey, MO, Brenda Blalock of Maggie Valley, NC, Debbie Allen and Martha Dinwiddie both of Springfield, MO, Mary Tilden of Warrensburg, MO and Robert Young of Marshfield, MO; 6 step children: Jerry Braun of Dixon, MO, Tammy Braun and Elmer "Harry" Braun, Jr. both of Linn Creek, MO, Lizzie Ditch and Angie Nash both of De Soto, MO and Diane Munoz of St. Robert, MO; 2 sisters: Margaret Stacey of Waynesville, MO and Lorene Cheek of Cochran, GA; 4 brothers: John H. Merrell of Independence, MO, Albert Merrell of Raymore, MO, William Merrell of Temple, TX and Arthur Merrell of the state of FL; 57 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Inis was preceded in death by her father: Albert Merrell; her mother: Lottie Poythress; her step father: Albert Poythress; two sons: Larry Le Ray Young and Andy Young; three sisters: Anna Bunch, Rebecca Blake and Pansy Exendine and one brother: Lester Merrell.

Graveside services were held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 19, 2005 in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery with Rev. Larry Adkins officiating. Some of Inis' grandchildren sang "Amazing Grace" and Rev. Adkins sang "How Great Thou Art". Serving as escorts were Inis' grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
