Carolyn Josephine Merrell Boatwright, 74, passed away on January 25, 2015 in Sanford Florida. She was born on October 21, 1940 in Edneyville, NC to Clarence and Flora Mae Merrell.
Carolyn was a floral shop owner and enjoyed spending time with family and all the special times with her sisters on cruises, game rooms, eating out, watching movies, the beach, shopping and spending time with children and Grandchildren.
Carolyn married Olin David Boatwright in 1959. They remained married for 42 years. Sadly, Olin passed away on January 27, 1998.
Carolyn is survived by her children James (Allen) Boatwright, Susan Whitman, Chief John Lee Boatwright, and Tamara (Tammy) Hammond; her siblings Kenneth Merrell, Kay Mintz, Susan Drake, Calvin Franklin Merrell, Deborah Shiller, and Dianne Regina McGregor; and her grandchildren Kaleigh Tapp, Kyndall Boatwright, Jonathan Boatwright, Keelie Hammond and Will Hammond.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Baldwin Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel from 3pm – 4pm with a Funeral Service to immediately follow.
