Myrtle M. Merkel
Graveside service for Myrtle M. (Schirr) Merkel, 82, a lifetime area resident, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Riverside Memorial Park with Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville, Wash., in charge.
A longtime Spokane resident, Mrs. Merkel died Saturday. She was born at Sprague, Wash., and with her husband, the late Harold B. Merkel, had farmed at Edwall, Wash., for a number of years.
Mrs. Merkel was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Spokane and Women of the Moose here.
Survivors include one daughter, Dolores Henry of Kent, Wash.; two sons, Gordon Merkel of Edwall and Kenneth Merkel of Spokane; one sister, Irene Doerschlag of Sprague; one brother, Ralph Schirr of Las Vegas, Nev., six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
