Mrs. Martha Lou (Mercer) Betts, 44, of 3731 Caracas Drive, Westerville, Ohio died Monday afternoon, June 23, 1975, at 2:15 o’clock, at Riverside Hospital, Columbus, after a four-day illness.
She was born April 11, 1931, at Chatfield, Ohio, the daughter of Mrs. Ocie Carpenter Mercer, of Jerusalem, Route one, and the late Chester Mercer. She was a former resident of Calais, Monroe County.
Mrs. Betts was a member of the Trinity Luthern Church at Marysville, Ohio, where she had resided for nine years.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband, John J. Betts; two sons, Terry Betts, of Marysville, and Juan Betts, of the home; one grandson, Trevor Flynn Betts, of Marysville; four sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Egger, of Marysville; Mrs. Lodena Christman, Mrs. Nancy Crum and Mrs. Emma Bates, of Jerusalem; and two brothers, Ellis Mercer, of Malaga, and James Mercer, of Jerusalem, Route one.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
The body was taken to the Postle-Hale Funeral Home in Marysville where friends were received.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, June 26th , at one o’clock in the Trinity Luthern church with Rev. Donald Bachman officiating.
Burial was in Oakdale cemetery at Marysville.
