Howard Lee Melton, 92, of Sulphur, formerly of Orange, Texas, died Sunday at Franklin Medical Center at Winnsboro, La.
He was born Feb. 22, 1913, at Warren, Ark., a son of the late Walter Carliss Melton and Thelma Curry Melton.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was a retired welder for Lake Charles Firestone Rubber Co., with 23 years of service.
He was a member of Orange Texas Community Church and Warren Masonic Lodge 33.
He was also preceded in death on Oct. 16, 1997, by his wife, Geraldine Donovan Melton, whom he married on Oct. 22, 1940.
Survivors include one son, Walter Thomas Melton of Sulphur; one brother, Raymond J. Melton of Memphis; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Oakland Cemetery at Warren. Arrangements are by Frazer's Funeral Home at Warren.
