"OBITUARY Mrs. Mary Bauman
Died at her home in Neshannock township, at an early hour Wednesday morning.
On Friday afternoon Mrs. Bauman was engaged in paring peaches, when she was seized with a paralytic stroke, and fell to the floor, being afterwards discovered in that position by one of the family. She never recoverd from the stroke, but died as stated above.
Mrs. Bauman was born in Center county, this state, January 5, 1822, and was therefore 72 years of age. She had lived in this county about fourteen years and was beloved by a large circle of friends, who respected and loved her for her kindly ways and pleasant disposition. She was an earnest, consistent member of the Methodist church, and at the time of her death was a member of King's Chapel congregation. She was the mother of the following children who survive her, and who are called upon to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate mother: Arthur, of Pittsburg; J. Milton, at Sewickley, Miss Louisa, in Neshannock township; Jere Bauman, of this city; Mrs. S. M. Gibson, Mrs. Geo. Green, and Mrs. E. N. Chapman [sic should be Chapin] of Neshannock township. Funeral Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at King's chapel, on the Pulaski road. Carriages will leave Offutt & Co.'s at 12:40."
