BOLTON, Mass. — Rose A. (Melanson) Dupuis, 100, of Bolton, Mass. died peacefully, Friday, February 26, 2016 in her residence surrounded by her family.

Born in St. Antoine, N.B. Canada on February 20, 1916, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Rose Osithe (Allain) Melanson. Rose graduated from St. Cesaire High School of Quebec, Canada in 1933. She also graduated from Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed by Gardner State Hospital as an L.P.N. Psychiatric Nurse for fifteen years, retiring in 1981. Rose was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, it’s Ladies of Saint Anne Society, and volunteered yearly for the annual Church Bazaar. She enjoyed reading, crocheting afghans, playing cards, making puzzles and birdwatching. For many years while employed at Gardner State Hospital, she enjoyed taking patients to Camp Collier. Rose loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Catherine.

She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Arnold A. Dupuis, who died December 17, 2010. Rose leaves three sons, Fr. Paul Dupuis of the Celtic Orthodox Church of Toms Brook, Va., Fr. Simon Dupuis of St. Jude ODM of Quebec, Canada and Peter M. Dupuis and his wife, Stacey of Bolton; two brothers, Leo Melanson of Sterling and Norman J. Melanson and his wife, Yvonne of Port Charlotte, Fla.; sister-in-law, Rita Melanson of Fitchburg; three grandchildren, Catherine Dupuis of Bolton, Luke Dupuis of Hayward, Calif. and Christopher Hoxie of Land O’ Lakes, Fla.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Edgar Melanson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2016 from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
