Lester George Megill, the son of Charles W. Megill and his wife Ann Amanda Johnson, was born in Ocean Twp., Lakewood County, New Jersey. He served as a Private First Class in the United States Army with the Tank Corps during WWI in France, 331 Battalion Company A. While in France he participated with his tank in the Meuse - Argonne offensive of November 1918. Lester was discharged with his regiment at Camp Meade New Jersey on March 14, 1919. After the war,Lester met Margaret Mary Campbell and the young couple were married on 30 October 1919 in Scranton Pennsylvania. Lester worked as financial consultant for many years. Lester and Margaret had two twin daughters, Jean and Jane Elizabeth.
