She was born to Molly and William Meese in Joplin, Mo., on Sept. 27, 1918..
When she was a youth, the Meese family moved to Dinuba, where Violet attended elementary school, then to Visalia, where she graduated from Visalia Union High School in 1935..
In 1940, she married Wayne Geary in Reno, Nev. The couple moved to Tulare, where they owned and operated various businesses, including The GM Market and Geary's Hancock and Regal gas stations..
Violet also was a cook for the Tulare City School District for more than 25 years. After the couple's retirement, they spent their summers at Hume Lake Christian Camp running the camp's grocery store..
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and her daughter-in-law, Donna Geary in 2001..
Violet was a very devoted member of the Blackstone Church of Christ in Tulare..
She enjoyed fishing and hunting. She had a very special love for her family, especially her grandchildren..
Survivors include two sons, Stephen Geary of Tulare and Tim Geary and his wife, Linde, of Tulare; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews..
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tulare District Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Goble-Miller Funeral Chapel..
