WELLINGTON - Janie Brashears, 88, formerly of Odessa died Saturday, June 18, 2011.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Church of Christ with Phil Collard, minister, and Troy Thomason officiating. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Service of Wellington.
Janie was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Whitesboro to William Henry and Della Mae Adams Meek. She graduated from Friendship High School in Wolfforth and from West Texas Hospital Nursing School. She was a registered nurse.
Janie was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Jim Brashears on Oct. 4, 1945, in Lubbock. He died in 1989.
Janie also was preceded in death by an infant son, John Robert Brashears; her parents; a brother, Felix Meek; and a sister, Nola Irene Meek.
Survivors include a son, James Brashears of Wellington; a daughter, Bonnie Hall and husband Don of Quail; three stepgrandchildren, Charles Hall, Eric Hall and wife Twannah and Brent Hall and wife Bonnie; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
