Bonham -- Funeral services for Loyce Elaine (Meek) Denney, age 77, of Bonham will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Bonham. Officiating will be Rev. Charles French of Carthage and Rev. W.C. Beasley of Bonham. Interment will be at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham. Mrs. Denney passed away Sunday morning, August 13, 2006 in Mineola, Texas, where she received hospice care for terminal cancer for three months at the home of her daughter, Dianne.
Mrs. Denney was born the daughter of the late Fred Stanford Meek and Gladys Maude (Brady) Meek, on March 18, 1929 in Gordonville, Grayson Co., Texas. She was married to Thomas Odell Denney on July 27, 1946. Mrs. Denney was a homemaker for many years, raising her five children, and then worked as a child care provider until the recent onset of her terminal illness.

She is survived by a sister, Brenda Sue French of Carthage: children, Freddie and Rebecca Denney of Quitman, Donna and Don Malcom of Greenville, Dianne and Craig Coder of Mineola, Sherrill and Mark Weaver of Tuscon, AZ; grandchildren , Bryan and Monica Denney of Austin, Lauren and James Jones of Rowlett, David Denney and Dara Denney of Lewisville, Jeff Brown of Flower Mound, Chris Brown of Greenville, Laurie Malcom of St. Petersburg, FL., Shelby Coder of College Station, Amanda Weaver, Emily Weaver and Ben Weaver all of Tucson; great grandchildren, Victoria (Tori) Denney, Madison Denney, Chase Jones, Grace Jones and Riley Brown; and more than twenty nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Denney is preceded in death by her brother, Weldon M. Meek; husband, Thomas Odell Denney; and son, Thomas (Tommy) Dale Denney.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Bryan Denney, Jeff Brown, Chris Brown, and David Denney, nephew, Joey French and family friend, Brad Galyean. The Deacons and Baptist Men of First Baptist Church, Bonham, where Mrs. Denney was a faithful member for fifty-one years, will be Honorary Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6-8p.m. on Tuesday evening at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to Hospice of East Texas in memory of Mrs. Denney, if they so desire.
