Alice, a resident of La Puebla, was predeceased by her parents Juan de Dios and Petrita Maestas; sister Nora Garcia (husband Ralph); brothers: Miguel, Leland (wife Helen), and Luis; and husbands: Johnny Valdez and Jimmy Medina.

Alice was survived by her sister-in-law Irene R. Maestas; adopted sister Angie Romero; Valdez step-children: Margie Zamora, Polly Sotello and Rosie Valdez; Medina step-children: Claudine Medina, Kathy Gonzales and Mary Ann Martinez, Donald and Mary Medina; caregiver nephew Mario Maestas; caregiver nieces: Divana Montoya, Karen Martinez, Louise Trujillo and Jovita Casias; and many other relatives and friends.

Alice was very lucky to have very close nieces and nephews and step-daughters who were there for her to take her to her doctor appointments, go run errands and to see that she was doing well; and since she did not have children she depended on them for being there for her when she needed them to help her out. Alice retired from Zia in Los Alamos and later she and Jimmy worked for Sombrillo Elementary as grandparents to the students. Alice was very fond of their pupils.

Public visitation and Rosary were on 24 Feb 2014 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial was on 25 Feb 2014 at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de La Cañada Catholic Church in Santa Cruz. Burial followed in La Puebla Community Cemetery in La Puebla.
