MARIAN A. MECONE
87, of 1900 Ravine Road, died on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Williamsport Home.
Her husband, Joseph Mecone, passed away in 1986.

She was born on Sept. 11, 1926, in Phillipsburg and was the daughter of Ralph Friday and Mabel Cowher Friday Dressel.

Marian was a 1944 graduate of Osceola Mills High School and the former Miss Wheaton's Business School, Williamsport.

She was employed by the Loyalsock Township School District for over 22 years as secretary to the superintendent.

She was a member of Northway Presbyterian Church where she had served as deacon, elder, and clerk of Session.

Marian was a member of Eastern Star Williamsport Chapter 321, a Mother Advisor of Rainbow Girls, and a charter member of the Bald Eagle Chapter of American Business Women's Assoc.
She also belonged to the Divine Providence Hospital Auxiliary,
the Women's Club of Williamsport, the Williamsport Bridge Club,
and the Friends of the Library.
She volunteered at Divine Providence Hospital, the American Cancer Society, and the James V. Brown Library.

She is survived by son, Ralph (Kim) Mecone, of Williamsport and
daughter, Eileen (Anthony John) Peluso, of Williamsport.

Three grandchildren, David (Heather) Mecone,
Tristan Mecone,
and Cass Peluso.

Three great-grandchildren, Brianna Mecone, Natalie Mecone, and Gibson Mecone; and three step-great-grandchildren, Jacob Giddens, Liam McLaughlin, and Violet McLaughlin.

She was predeceased by a brother Ralph Friday.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Burial will be private in Twin Hills Memorial Park.
