Mrs. Breeden was born August 30, 1935 in Page County and was the daughter of the late Ira and Edith Breeden Meadows. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Leroy Breeden; sons, Jerry Leroy Breeden, (twins) Edward and Edwin Breeden; sisters, Nellie Meadows and Lorraine Meadows, and a brother, Timothy Meadows.
Ethel attended Hensley's United Methodist Church and Bear Lithia Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She also enjoyed taking walks and feeding her fish.
Survivors include her children, Donnie Breeden and wife, Carol "Rusty", Zelda "Sissy" Mackey and husband, Shaun, Charlotte Wylie and husband, Mark all of Elkton, and Connie Sue Meyers of Broadway; brothers, George Franklin "Dinky" Meadows, Layton "Jake" Meadows, and Willard Meadows all of Elkton; sisters, Irene Meadows, "Jewell" Hammer, and Marie Merica all of Elkton; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and daughter-in-law, Norma Breeden.
Pastor Carter Dean will conduct a funeral service 10am Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton. Burial will follow in the Hensley's United Methodist Church Cemetery in the Thoroughfare area of Elkton.
The family will received friends from 7 – 8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Elkton.
