|Birth: ||Aug. 24, 1932|
|Death: ||Nov. 25, 2005|
On Friday, November 25, 2005, Kathryn Meadows Ennis left this world behind to live in the House of our Lord.
Kathryn was born in Columbus, GA on August 24, 1932 to Stella Mae Campbell Meadows and Moses Meadows. On December 31, 1948, she married a young sailor, Bill, also of Columbus. They moved to Pensacola in 1960. Mother later became a dedicated, compassionate volunteer and patient advocate at Baptist Hospital where she made several lifelong friends. Her delightful sense of humor, unselfish love for others, and her steadfast faith in God comforted everyone around her. She lived her life here on earth just as she left it, with tremendous strength of character, infinite grace and with dignity. Words cannot express the emptiness that her passing has left in our lives but we know that she is now, and always will be, a part of us all of those who loved her.
She leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Billie D. Ennis; three daughters, Brenda (Geoffrey) Abbott, Deborah Ennis and Susan (Everett) Day; four grandchildren, David (Brice) Rich, Kathryn Rich Godwin, Kristen (Brett) Sanborn and Shannon (Nick) Treiber; and four great-grandchildren, Destiny Treiber, Zoe Coats, Emma Rich and Kaitlyn Sanborn. She also leaves behind her brother, Robert Meadows and her sister, Joanne Wilkins; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Stella Mae Campbell Meadows, and her father, Moses Meadows.
Our family would like to ask those who knew and loved our mother to join us in a memorial service to celebrate her life on Monday, December 19, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pavilion at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in mother's name to Covenant Hospice, The Cancer Society, Parkinson's research, or the "Bill and Kathryn Scholarship Fund" benefiting a dental hygiene student at Laramie County Community College, 1400 E. College Drive, Cheyenne, WY 82007.
