Laura Elizabeth (nee Meadows) Lentz Parker died April 7, 2005, at Scottsdale Osborne Hospital, AZ. The daughter of Christopher Lucius & Mary Eddy DeLoach Meadows, she was born February 16, 1910, in Cochran, Georgia, and was the only daughter among six brothers.
She was predeceased by her two beloved husbands, George Ray Lentz Sr. & Albert Wray Parker Jr.; her step-sons George Ray Lentz Jr. & Charles Postelle Lentz Sr.; her step-daughter, Margaret Lentz Roberts; brothers Clyde Logan Meadows, Alvin Lawton Meadows, and Willis Newton Meadows.
She is survived by brothers George Elliott Meadows & Joseph Earl Meadows, eight grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
Courageous, brave, and adventuresome, she traveled the world during her rich lifetime. Her residences spanned the coast from east to west. With only a handful of ration tickets and relying on the kindness of strangers, she crossed the states with her 16-year-old-step-son during World War II to join her husband George Ray Lentz Sr., who was sent there as part of the war effort.
She survived a massive earthquake in California and moved to Scottsdale in the 1970's. Most recently she resided at Villa Ocotillo Assisted Living facility.
A retired accountant from Civil Service after 26 years, she was also a gifted writer and painter. She had no children of her own but she adored the children she "inherited", in addition to the adorable four-legged children, her Chihuahuas, she raised for many years.
