David Wayne Meade

DANVILLE - David Wayne Meade, 37, of Danville, passed away Thu, Mar 25,
2009, at his residence. Born Sun, Dec 19, 1971, in Lexington, KY, he was the son of Fred W. and Sue Davis Meade, both of Lexington. David was a clinical research manager for United Health Care. He was a member of The Presbyterian Church, where he was active in the choir and served on the worship committee. He was the former music director at The Danville Centenary United Methodist Church. He taught handbells, played trombone, enjoyed reading, traveling, flowers and gardening, was compassionate and cared about others, and was a skilled baritone soloist. David was a member of the Lexington Singers, the Lexington Bach Chorale, and was a frequent performer at the University of Kentucky's Grand Night for Singing. He graduated from Tates Creek High School in 1989, having received many academic achievements and participating in the Beta club. David also graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelors of Science Degree. He is survived by his parents; his partner, Dr. Jeff Jones of Danville; sister, Susan Meade Shaver of aunts, Marlene Peyton of Lexington, Jane (Bud) Wilmot of Nicholasville, and Lorraine (Jim) Harrison of nephew, Tyler David Shaver; niece Haley E. Shaver; and a host of cousins. A memorial service will be held at 1pm Sat, Mar 28, 2009, at The Presbyterian Church with the Reverends Lee Bowman, Jim Stewart, Rick Axtell, Lisa Eye, and Terry Leap officiating. Visitation will be held 5-8pm Fri, Mar 27, 2009, at The Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Montreat Music Scholarship Fund or to the Mayo Clinic for Amyloidosis Research. Contribution forms will be available at The Presbyterian Church of from Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home.
