FLECHSIG, Constance E., age 88 of Bloomfield, died August 13, 2012 at St. John River District Hospital in East China Township, Michigan. Constance was born January 21, 1924 in Detroit, to Saidee (nee Walker) and Frederick McBrearty. She attended the Detroit Society of Arts & Crafts and Oakland Community College.
On January 15, 1949, Constance married Jack M. Flechsig, beginning a life together that would span 62 years, bringing them 8 children and 11 grandchildren. They were members of St. Regis Parish in Bloomfield Hills since 1964.
Constance was also a member of Scarab Club, Sculptors Guild of Michigan, Birmingham/Bloomfield Art Association, and the Puppeteers of America. Constance participated in numerous juried art shows in photography, sculpting, painting and ceramics, for which she received many awards.
She was an avid bowler, most recently with the Merry Mergers League and never missed an opportunity to root for her beloved Detroit Tigers. Constance enjoyed boating at the family cottage on Lake St. Clair, but most especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Constance was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by many.
Constance is survived by her loving children Kristin (Gregory) Myers, Lisa Sabo, Jan Flechsig, Marc (the late Wanda) Flechsig, Heidi (Joseph) Moloney, Jeremy Flechsig, Andrew Flechsig, and Peer Flechsig. She is also survived by her grandchildren Megan (Scott) Kortlandt, Lauren Myers, Beth, Garth and Celia Sabo, Brenna, Audrey, and Katie Moloney and Leigh, Jack, and Lilly Flechsig. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Flechsig.
Family will receive friends at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Thursday 3:00-8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Regis Church, Lahser at Lincoln, Bloomfield Hills, Friday 10:30 a.m. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10:00 a.m.
