Janet Elaine Arnett, 57, of Excello, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at her home.
Mrs. Arnett was born on March 14, 1948, in Kirksville, the daughter of Nathan W. Jr. and Leta Hines McWilliams.
She married Cecil Roy Arnett on April 3, 1971, in Macon.
Surviving are her husband Cecil of the home; three daughters, Ellen (DeDe) Smith of Excello, Kimberly Arnett of Columbia, and Marci Arnett of Columbia; grandchildren, DeHanna Smith, Jaylenne Smith and Tanner Ramage; and siblings Beverly McWilliams of Macon, David McWilliams of Madison, Donna Watkins of Shelbina and Jamie McWilliams of Leonard; 15 nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Leta McWilliams.
Mrs. Arnett was a native of Leonard and graduated from North Shelby High School, north of Shelbyville. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Macon and was a cat lover and raised exotic cats.
Visitation was Friday, July 29, 2005, from 5-8 p.m. at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2005, at the funeral home with Bro. Jim Bolin officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery at Cox Post Office.
The family suggested memorials to the American Diabetes Association, Multiple Sclerosis Society or American Cancer Society, which may be left at the funeral home.
