Alice Pearl McWethy Jarrell, 77, of Florence, formerly of Petersburg, died Monday, February 25 at her home. She was a housewife and mother.

She wrote the Petersburg column in the Boone County Recorder for 33 years.

She worked at Gibson Greeting Card Company for several years in Cincinnati.

She was a member of Petersburg Christian Church where she played the piano and taught Sunday School for many years.

She loved to read, dance and play with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Jamie Jarrell of Burlington; brothers, Alfred McWethy and Charlie McWethy, both of Petersburg; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley G. "Pete" Jarrell; and parents, Milton and Sophia Weisickle McWethy.
