Funeral services for Mr. Leo Luther McVay, age 91, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday February 29, 2008 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Britt Dupree officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. McVay, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Tuesday February 26, 2008. He was a retired carpenter. He is preceded in death by his wife Flora McVay, to whom he shared over 61 years of marriage before her passing on January 23, 1996. He is also preceded in death by two sons, Roy E. McVay, "Baby" McVay; three brothers, Roy, G.O., Albert; and three sisters, Leafy, Alice, & Gladys.

He is survived by three daughters, Peggy Brown of Riggins, Idaho, Mary Ann Day of Monroe, Betty Owens of Bastrop; son, Jim McVay of Banks, Arkansas; sister, Reba Smith of California; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tad McVay, Henry Heath, Leo Kitchens, Cody McVay, Donny Worley, and Jimmy Worley. Honorary pallbearers are James P. McVay, Mark McVay, Mike Meeks, and Jimmy Perry.
