Fayette County, TN - Dorothy Wade McQueen, 95, lifelong resident of Fayette County and wife of the late Marvin E. McQueen, who preceded her in death February 28, 1993, went home to be with The Lord, Friday, March 8, 2013. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with interment in the Macon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at Peebles. Dot, known by many as "Mama Dot", was retired from the Troxel Company where she was employed for 24 years until her retirement at the age of 70. Dot was an avid sports fan who loved watching professional sports and her beloved Ole Miss Rebels. Dot is survived by her three children, Marvin E. (Sonny) McQueen (Mimi) of Germantown, William R. (Ricky) McQueen (Judy) of Somerville, Barbara McQueen Smith (Jimmy) of Memphis, three grandchildren, Marvin E. (Bubba) McQueen (Leah), William R. (Richard) McQueen , Matthew Lawrence Smith, two great grand children, Susan Merrell McQueen, Noah Biggs McQueen, a nephew Norman Vance (Barbara) of Bolivar and a wonderful best friend Rubye Collins of White Hall, AR. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter Susan Merrell McQueen. Dot touched the life of many and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. The family requests that memorials be directed in Dot's name to Macon United Methodist Church, 8740 Highway 193, Oakland, TN 38060. (Published in The Commercial Appeal on March 10, 2013)
