WAYNESBORO – Ann McNutt Lothery, age 96, died Monday morning, Dec. 15, 2014, at Summit Square Retirement Community.

She was born Oct. 27, 1918 in Rockbridge County and was the daughter of the late Mary Johson McNutt and Robert James McNutt.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Earley Lothery Jr., and by her brother, Hugh Johnson McNutt, both of whom she dearly loved. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family; however, she is survived by her brother’s stepdaughter, Marjorie Chittum and her husband, Earl, “who have shown unbelievable kindness, thoughtfulness, and love for me”.

She was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church and an affiliate member of First Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro. She was active in her church circle. She spent many hours volunteering at the Lexington Regional Library, the Augusta County Regional Library, and the Augusta Regional Free Clinic. She loved animals and nature.

A memorial service will be at a later date.
