Virginia McNear Cook, 66, Campbellsville, daughter of the late William G. McNear and Frances Lula Carter McNear, born in Marion County, June 4, 1923, died at 11:40 a.m., Wednesday, January 31, 1990 in Campbellsville after a brief illness. She attended St. Andrew United Methodist Church and was employed as a clerk at the Campbellsville Police Department. She is survived by three daughters and four sons, Barbara Alfieri, Bobby L. Cook, and Jerry L. Cook, all of Tampa, Florida; William D. Cook and Jewell Phillips, both of Greensburg, Roger D. Cook, Elizabethtown, and Kathy Cave, Campbellsville; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters, William D. McNear, Helen Browning, and Vivian Pierce, all of Campbellsville, and Evelyn Kearney of Mt. Washington; several other relatives and many friends. The funeral was held at 1 p.m. , Saturday, February 3, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville with the Rev. Doug Moseley and the Rev. Jerry Judd officiating. Burial was in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
