Mary Jane Anderson
Mary Jane Anderson, 59, of New Kensington, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, in her home. She was born Oct. 25, 1950, in New Kensington, a daughter of the late William James and Ivy Mae Wable McNabb. Mary Jane was born and lived in New Kensington all her life.
She was an avid scrapbooker and a spoon collector, having all 50 states. She was an Avon lady for many years. She enjoyed and had hundreds of pen pals from all 50 states and around the world, including places like Europe and New Zealand. She loved spending time with her family, which her family and grandchildren were the center of her life. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church, New Kensington.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Sarmes; and a grandchild. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Harry W. Anderson Jr., of New Kensington; two daughters, Brenda (James) Knapp, of New Kensington, and Belinda (Jason) JozeFowicz, of Greensburg; a brother, James William "Billy" (Sara) McNabb, of Burgettstown; a sister, Maj. Doris Mae (Maj. Craig) Haggerty, of Hazelton; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Christopher, Brandon, Victoria and Ryan Knapp, Paige and Joseph JozeFowicz; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, New Kensington. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from the funeral home with her sister and her husband, Maj. Doris Mae and Maj. Craig Haggerty, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
