DECATUR - Gail McMillan Behrends, 53 of Decatur passed away February 21, 2010 at the Fair Havens Christian Nursing Home, Decatur.
Gail was born January 13, 1957, the daughter of Harry Eugene and Joan (Ping) McMillan.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, David.
She went to Decatur to attend Millikin University from which she graduated in 1979, fell in love with the community and never left. At the First National Bank of Decatur, Gail rose through the ranks to the position of vice president of marketing. At St. Mary's Hospital, Gail helped to recruit physicians to the community as director of physician services. Gail returned to bank marketing as assistant vice president of marketing at Soy Capital Bank and Trust. Gail finished her career as an account representative with Nichols Advertising.
Gail is survived by her sons, Aaron Mitchell and Addison Michael, and their father, Mark Behrends; her mother, Joan; one sister, Sallie (Mike) Kolenich; and three nieces.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur. Additional visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. at the Auburn Christian Church on Friday, February 26, 2010 with Rev. Nick Oyler officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Sugar Creek Cemetery, Glenarm.
