BABCOCK, Marion I. - age 89, died Saturday, August 11, 2001 at her
residence. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2001 at the Whipple-O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Pastor Roger Gedcke officiating
with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 12-6pm and Monday from 1-4 pm and 6-9 pm. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Bethany United Methodist Church. Marion was born June 6, 1912 in Yale, MI the daughter of the late William and Mary (Stock) McLane. She was united in marriage to Claude F. Babcock September 20, 1930 in Bowling Green, OH. He preceded her in death in 1991. Marion and her husband owned and operated the Babcock IGA Foodliner in Clio for 58 years. She was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church and served as the financial secretary, the Esther Circle of Bethany Church and life member of the Order of the Eastern Star #283. Marion was also preceded in death by a grandson Fred W. Babcock; Brother Jack McLane; Sisters Iva Dunlay, Jen Hunt, Beulah Blenkle, and Adrienna Voorhies.
