Addie's parents felt education was very important. Her father taught himself by scribbling in the dirt with a shovel to learn math. He became a teacher, postmaster, and made an impact in his community of Oxien, Runnels Texas. Addies son was the last child to be born in Oxien.
Addie taught for 30 years.
She was devoted to her family and maintained a close relationship with her siblings. In her later years she helped care for her sister, Marie.
Addie's namesake was my mom, Addie Faye Causey McBurney and her name continues forward thru my granddaughter."
