Penny McKinney-Green of Moline, IL. Formerly of Aledo, IL died Saturday October 2, 2010 as a result of an automobile accident near Roseville IL. Private Services will be Friday at the Fippinger Funeral Home. Burial is in the Aledo cemetery. A Public Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Thursday at Fippingers. In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be left to a scholarship fund titled "Pennies for Art" to be used for the Art Department at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. She was born in Aledo on February 22 a daughter of Sylvester and Juanita Johnson McKinney. She graduated from Aledo High School and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Illinois University. On September 11, 1993, she was united in marriage to John M. Green in Aledo.
Penny was currently employed as Adjunct Professor at Blackhawk College in Moline for the English as a Second Language Program and most recently started working at Niabi Zoo in Coal Valley.
She had many interests including studying and practicing art, swimming, gardening, collecting antiques, traveling and spending time with her sister, Mary Ann.
Survivors include her husband, John Green of Moline and her sister Mary Ann McKinney of Aledo. At this moment, those who love Penny feel like they are watching a work of art in progress from either Picasso or Pissaso. The strokes don't seem to fit but as time passes they know the beauty of her life will come to be a masterpiece, one they are happy to have shared and remembered.
Her parents and her sister, Linda preceded her in death.
