DEATH OF MRS. JOHN McKIM
Sarah Alice Ramsbottom, daughter of Samuel H. and Almeda Ramsbottom, was born May 22, 1858, and departed this life August 10, 1934, at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 19 days. She was united in marriage to John McKim on March 25, 1880. To this union two children were born: Mrs. D.M. McCrary and Mrs. J.G. McCrary who with four grandchildren and two great grandchildren suvive her.
Her husband preceded her in death July 22, 1916. After his passing Mrs. McKim made her home with her daughter, Mrs. D.M. McCrary.
She was born and lived the greater part of her life in Daviess County. She was one of a family of eleven children, only one of whom survives her, namely, Grant Ramsbottom.
The deceased united with the Methodist church at an early age and lived an active member until failing health kept her at home.
The last year her health commenced to decline and about three weeks ago she suffered a stroke of paralysis, from which she gradually grew worse. During all of her suffering and pain she was patient and bore it with fortitude and love. When we dwell upon her life we deal with a character which was excellent, with a life that was virtuous and true. She was a loving wife, and affectionate mother, grandmother and a kind neighbor.
We feel that she goes with the belief that "The Lord is my helper; and I will not fear."
The funeral service for Mrs. McKim was held at the Wesley Chapel Sunday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. J.W. Ward, pastor of the Hamilton Methodist Church.
