Teresa Louise McKenzie Childs
Teresa Louise McKenzie Childs, 58, of Georgetown, TN, died on Wednesday, February 12, 2014.
She was the daughter of the late Frank "Runt" McKenzie; and was also preceded in death by her nephew, Andrew Lee Childs; and a son-in-law, Bay Ferguson.
She was born March 17, 1955 and lived in the Big Springs community of Meigs County until moving to the Georgetown Community many years ago. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Burdette Baptist Church. She was employed with Whirlpool in Cleveland with over 35 years of service.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Sam Childs; daughters, Angie Ferguson and significant other Harold Lewis of Georgetown and Melina Partin and her husband Jonathan of Ooltewah; her son, Adam Childs and his wife Pam of Georgetown; four grandchildren; her mother, Martha McKenzie Williams of Decatur; sisters, Barbara Howard of Decatur and Pat Childs and her husband Edgar of Georgetown; brother, Chuck McKenzie and his wife Carol of Rockwood TN; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 17 at the North Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Rev. David Evans and Pastor James Staton officiating. Interment will follow in the McInturf Cemetery with Mike Childs, Anthony Caldwell, Mark Caldwell, Keith McKenzie, Randy Cross, Chad Prentice and Stacy Guffey serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 16 from 1-9 p.m. at the North Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
