Cumberland, MD- Judith "Judy" Elaine Brown, 69, of Cumberland, died Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born September 8, 1946 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Samuel McKenzie and Nellie Ruth (Deneen) McKenzie.
Judy was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1964. She had worked as an operator for C & P Telephone Company. Judy attended Our Lady of the Mountains Parish-St. Patrick's and St. Mary's Catholic Churches.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Floyd Brown; her loving daughter, Laurie M. Brown; two brothers, William G. McKenzie, Harman, MD, and John F. McKenzie, Fayetteville, NC; two sister, Alice Dombrowsky, Martinsburg, WV, and Janet Durst, Frostburg, MD; several nieces and nephews; a special family friend, Marc Yonker; and, an adopted grandchild, Morgan Yonker.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 5-8 PM. The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 1 PM in the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
