Mrs. Bernadette Goen, 80, 1611 Alden Road, wife of Dempsey Goen, died Wednesday at Ball Hospital. Born in Muncie, she spent her entire life in this community. She graduated from Muncie High School and attended Eastern Indiana Normal Institute, now Ball State.
Mrs. Goen was a legal secretary in the law offices of Pieroni, Hynes, Dixon and Marsh for many years. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Flower Mission, Riverside Culture Club and Athenaeum Club. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 104, Beauceant, Fez Mates and AARP.
Surviving besides her husband are her daughter, Mrs. Donald (Jane) Ross, and her granddaughter, Lisa Diane Ross, both of Speedway; and two cousins.
Services will be held in Meeks Mortuary at 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. Laurence A. Martin and Rev. Yung S. Chen officiating. Interment will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call a the mortuary 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and any time before the services Friday.
