VIOLA EDITH TURNER-
Viola Edith McKenney Turner, 69, following a brave, courageous battle with cancer, took her final journey on Easter Day, April 4, 1999, surrounded by her family at the Edgewood Manor Nursing home in Farmington, where she had been for a few days following a hospital stay.
Viola Edith McKenney was born Sept. 23, 1929, in North Anson, the youngest daughter of Charles and Mabel (Rice) McKenney. The had moved to East New Portland and Viola attended New Portland schools, graduating from Central High School in 1947.
She married Levi S. Agrenon on May 25, 1951. He died in November 1961. She then married Glen W. Turner on April 23, 1967. He died in January 1997.
She was employed by Dirigo Dowel for more than 25 years. She also was employed by Leather and Shell Shop in Old Orchard Beach during the summer of 1998.
She was a member of the New Portland Ladies Group, New Portland Community Church and the New Portland Community Church Bible Study Group.
She enjoyed playing cards, especially the cribbage tournaments at Edgewood Manor. She loved sewing, gardening, bird-watching, reading her Bible, spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends and enjoyed country music.
Survivors include her sisters, Zaidee Hargreaves of Farmington, Vertie Agren of New Portland, and a brother, William McKenney of Russellville, Ark.; a very supportive sister-in-law, Joyce McKenney of New Jersey; daughters, Donna Agren of Old Orchard Beach and Linda Agren of New Portland; stepsons, Daniel Libby and wife, Bonnie, of Standish and Robert Turner of Brockton, Mass.; grandchildren, Matthew Agren and friend, Martha Hilton, of Mechanic Falls, Levi and Desirae Norton of New Portland, Monica Turner of Skowhegan, Nathan and wife, Bobbi-Jo, Shaun and Brandon Libby of Standish; great-grandchildren, Dalton and Courtney Turner of Skowhegan.

Visitation hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, at Adams Funeral Home, 3 Court St., Farmington.
A funeral service wlll be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8, at the West New Portland Community Church with the Rev. Scott Planting officiating.
