The funeral for Mrs. Phillip Hill took place from her late residence, 472 William avenue, to Kildonan cemetery on Monday, the 20th inst. The deceased was formerly Miss Christina McKay and was born in historic old Kildonan on March 5, 1852. Four children survive her, namely, Miss Mary and Matthew Davis, and Miss Maude and Victor Hill, also four sisters, Mrs. Harper, Kildonan; Mrs. Coates, Elm Creek; Mrs. Blamfastyne, Minedosa, and Mrs. Frayhe, Winnipeg. Three brothers, William, George and James, reside on the old homestead. The casket was borne by Magnus Harper, George and William McKay, and R. D. Templeton and was covered with many beautiful wreaths and sprays, among which were a wreath from the family wreath, Mrs. Harper; wreath, Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Templeton; spray, Mrs. Clouston; spray, Lilian and Maria; spray, Miss J. and L. Galbraith, spray, Mary; spray, Mrs. Matheson. Mrs. Hill was an old pioneer of Balmoral, Man., having moved here in 1853.
