Mrs. Elsie E. McInturf

Sallisaw (Special) Mrs. Elsie Evelyn McInturf, 80, of Sallisaw, died Friday in a Sallisaw Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Agent Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Grady McCullough, officiating. Burial will be in Sallisaw City Cemetery. Survivors include her husband W. T. of the home; a son, Coy of Richland, Washington; two daughters Mrs. Dora Houser of O'Fallon, Illinois and Mrs. Dorotha Diiday of Berryville; Arkansas; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Elsie Evalyn Hamm was a daughter of Thomas Frederick Ham and his 1st wife: Lucy Ann Christian. Elsie was known in her early years as Eva E Ham, or as Evalyn E Ham. The initial "E" is alternately rendered as "Elsie" in her later life, but no official document has been found from her birth or early years: The name might be Elsa, or Elspeth, or Elsamina.
