Funeral service for Otho Curtis McHugh, 88, of Chickasha, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 at the Bible Baptist Church.

OTHO CURTIS McHUGH was born Feb. 21, 1923, in Ravia, the son of Brake and Mattie McHugh. He died Sept. 15, 2011 at his home in Chickasha.

Otho graduated from Chickasha High School in 1941. He served during World War II from 1943-1945, and landed on Normandy Beach on D-Day. Otho retired as assistant fire chief from the Chickasha fire department in 1972. After his retirement, he worked at the Best Western as head of maintenance.

Otho was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion.

He was very funny, loved to make people laugh and told lots of tall tails. He loved his yorkie, Chanel. Otho was the ping pong champ of the fire department.

He was preceded in death by a son: Otho S. McHugh in 2007, a brother: J.B. McHugh and Parents

Survivors include wife: Sadie McHugh of the home; two daughters: Anala and Jerry Mitchell of Minco, DeeDee and Tim Crawford of Chickasha, and seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
